I wrote a post regarding a major Salesforce service disruption happened on May 17, 2019. 2 years later on May 11, 2021, we are having another tremendous service outage. There is no ETA and whatsoever at this point, even the status checking site status.salesforce.com itself is down too. How ironic!

It has already been 1 hour (current date/time: 2021-05-21 06:05PM EST) and there is no official response regarding to this service disruption yet. Right now, there are tons of users have been reporting this issue on downdetector.com:

As an admin/developer, there is nothing much I can do at the moment other than replying and telling the users that Salesforce f**ked up big this time.

I will update this post once the service is back online. Meantime, I am just browsing Twitter and hoping that the service can be recovered soon.

Updates 5/11/2021 6:44PM EST:

It seems like other major companies are having issues as well.

Updates 5/11/2021 6:59PM EST:

CTO & co-founder @salesforce Parker Harris responded that this might be a DNS issue causing service disruption.

Updates 5/11/2021 8:23PM EST:

Service is back to normal now. It took roughly 3 hours and more to finally identify the issue and fix it. This incident is confirmed by the Salesforce team to be the result of an internal DNS change that causes such avalanche.

Anyway, I am glad things are back to normal now!
