Salesforce Platform Developer II Exam Passed! Wait... WHAT???

About a month and couple weeks ago, I have completed Salesforce Advanced Administrator Exam with flying colors. I know I did very well when I could literally use one hand to count how many questions that I might be possibly doing wrongly. Thanks to focusonforce.com that has helped me a lot preparing for the exam though!

Anyway, I decided to finish my last Salesforce exam of the year - Salesforce Platform Developer II. I registered the exam and started preparing it. To be honest here, I was very confident and got kind of cocky about this exam as I did kind of good in those previous Salesforce exams. I thought it was all going to be okay, but it wasn't (entirely). It was much harder than I thought it would be. I thought I was gonna screwed up big time when I started doing the questions and none of them looked familiar to me, and I just had to follow my guts to "guess" for the answers. Most of the questions require you to read the code, and the topic ranging from Visualforce to Lightning Components, Apex code to APIs and etc. There were many questions that required careful reading to find out the correct one, and quite a lot of them required extensive knowledge and experience to answer it correctly.

Tips on this exam though, you probably need to hurry up a little bit because time is running. My method is to give each question at most 1 minute of the time to think and then select a choice even if you're unsure. Just select the one that you have most confident in, mark it as "Review" and come back to it later if you still have time after completing all the questions. Reason being, if you really run out of time, at least you have made your guess and there will be 50% of chance to get it right.

If you have a coding question and it is very long, just go through the choices and eliminate the least possible ones. You will get the gist of it after eliminating those obvious ones.

Thankfully, I did manage to pass the exam - 3 more questions and I will fail the exam. I thought I could put a pause on my Salesforce career advancement for now, and maybe it's time for me to move on to my next AWS career advancement journey, but then I just realized that I didn't obtain the Salesforce Platform Developer II Certification yet! I got a congratulation email on passing the exam, but it also mentioned this:

To earn the Platform Developer II credential, you must successfully complete all components outlined on our website.

So I looked it up online and found out that I had to also finish those components on trailhead.com in order to get the certification.

Well, I guess I will just have to finish it then. Looking on the bright side, I will have a chance to relearn and master those topics again! The superbadge stuff is what I am doing right now. For the next few posts, I will be going over those superbadges with my steps and solution details.

Notes to fellow "soon-to-be-second-level-salesforce-developers", please don't just copy and paste the code that you found online when you are completing the superbadge project ya! You will be disqualified for the certification if they caught you plagiarized!

That's all! I will see you guys soon, take care!
